» Anyone gone back to film?

Anyone else out there thinks that digital is not all its cracked up to be? More time spent in avoiding highlight burn-out, editing etc for a quality that just does'nt match good all film? - and how many of us view/look at our shoots like we used to, or are they kept at the risk to computer gremlins and viruses. Market forces dictate that I use digital for weddings and protraits but when I want a good quality result from my 'leisure' shooting I'm finding the film camera is back in the bag.Ive been shooting digital, but will be buying a new nikon SLR in the near future ( a couple of months) and can't wait!I havent bought a digital SLR yet But Im spending too much money on film and developing film. Ooook....I have a portrait session coming up sometime in the next month (gotta figure out the exact date yet!), and my subjects are going to be two liiittle liiiittle girls! A 1 year old and a 2 1/2 year old....I plan to take them to the park, and do some there, and now that I have a decent place for my studio, will probably do some in there if possible, as well. I've only done one other portrait session so far, and it was a little boy, so I've only got boy props at the moment. I would like to hear everyone's opinion on radicals. I might start using them in learning, as I have noticed that my mind started to differentiate between them on its own lol. On the other hand, learning them all sounds rather time-consuming. So, whats your opinion? You suggest I study radicals, or plain rape knowledge into my mind?I assume you're talking about memorizing kanji via rote or mnemonics vs. radicals? I personally prefer to learn via radicals, because like you said, I also tend to see the constituents that make up a character. I need help updating... I have a softmod... how do I update XBMC? I am using a Mac and have FTP access... My Xbox boots directly into XBMC... XBMC is on my C drive.... I heard you shouldn't exfoliate everyday. mean if your using proactiv your exfoliating everyday because the cleanser or step one has microbeads that scrub away dead skin cells.. also your using it 2 times a day so exfoliate twice a day.. I'm just curious how many people who own either one of these cameras has ever had one break and need repair. I'm Always so thirsty like after eating something really salty. And i drink a lot, and eat a lot of fruits. But I also sleep like 12 hours a day, and if i am awake i'm weak and sleepy. I also ge these shocks going through my heart it seems. The other day I accidently rolled through a stop sign. I made the effort to stop, but I came up on it too fast. Of course a cop saw me and because I was nervous and running extremely late, I just went with it thinking I would show up to the court hearing and dispute it or at least try to get my fine reduced. I have found photshops help to be less than helpful. Between experimenting and the help section I finally started getting the effect I wanted. I thought this turned out with kind a Christmas card feel. To get this effect I used the elliptical select tool to outline the area I wanted. If I did not quite get the area I wanted I just kept doing it again until I got what I wanted. Then go to "select" - "inverse", Then "select" - "feather" and select the pixels of the radius, this radius was 70 pixels. Then "edit" - "cut". » Macro Flash Setup for Nikon

So I bought the Nikon R1 macro flash setup to use with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 60mm micro lens. Most of my photography is of amphibians, reptiles, and insects so I though $450 well spent. I am a graduate student, so it was a lot of money. I hadn't realized when I bought it that the R1s don't have any way to adjust the flash output independently. Short of adjusting placement of the lights, this results in rather boring, flat images devoid of any shadow (unlike the equivelent canon setup). So I was going to return it and get 2 whimberly flash brackets and a second SB-600 flash. Unfortunately, I can't return it because I cut the side of the box to remove the proof of purchase. I've had a frozen 21 pound turkey since Sunday evening. Let it in the refrigerator until today at about noon. Put it in a sink with cold water and turned it and changed the water every hour until 6:00 pm. I unwrapped and it was still frozen on the inside and could move the legs slightly. I wrapped it back up and put it back in the refrigerator. Will it keep there until Thursday? What I've been reading says I must cook it immediately. Having had my xbox apart for the last few weeks while running two hard drives. Tonight I dropped a bollock. I knocked the xbox causing one of the drives onto the psu. A small flash and a pop/bang happened. No suprise the xbox didn't power up. Now I;ve stripped out the psu board and inspected it. All components and pcb tracks are in tact. There is no sign of scortching on the drive either. Now I'm sure the the drive fell onto the heat sink of the triac 1/3 of the way from the back. Hi Currently, I have an animation which has a large landscape. In order to zoom into that landscape I would need to put everything in a MC, then tween it to a larger size. This method lags! Another method I know of, is using an objects dimensions as the parameter of what the animation should show. We are reconfiguring our basement workshop and have decided to add a dust collection system. Simultaneously, our central vac broke down and needs to be relaced. Does anyone have experience with connecting shop-dust-collection tubing to a central vacuum? If it is possible, which brand or "air wattage" of central vacuum would you recommend? Any modifications necessary?
