Help! Blown Power SupplyI knocked the xbox causing one of the drives onto the psu.
A small flash and a pop/bang happened. No suprise the xbox didn't power up.
Now I;ve stripped out the psu board and inspected it. All components and pcb tracks are in tact. There is no sign of scortching on the drive either. Now I'm sure the the drive fell onto the heat sink of the triac 1/3 of the way from the back. I've checked the quick blow fuse which looks ok as well.
I've left all my testers at work so I haven;t checked the voltage outputs on the wiring harness.
Can anyone recommend what to check first, also what is the likely hood of me damaging the main motherboard? Not to worried about the hard drive as I am sure that will be fried as well.
I have ordered a replacement PSU for mrmodchips, but don;t think I can go all weekend without my xbox.
transistor ordered! Ten min job
And whats a new xbox 1 going to cost?!? Needs to be a 1.6 version so I can use my mod chip as a straight swap. Ebay, you don;t know what your going to get.
PSU replaced with no joy so am now its the stand-by power transistor.
