I would like to be a doctor?
I am now in my first year of high school but in the future i would like to become a doctor i know i have to start getting the grades now so any suggestions on how to do this and what subjects should i take in year 10 for an entry into medicine thanks soo much During high school, your goal should be to take advanced math and science classes, AP ones if you have the choice. The overall goal is to get into an excellent college...medical school applications will be much easier if you go to a school with some name recognition. While in high school, volunteer at a local hospital if you can. In college, get the best science grades you can and good MCAT scores. Trust me, getting into med school or a good college has NOTHING to do with money, I come from a lower middle class family, and I went to very nice private college and an incredible med school. I've been helped all along the way by financial aid, loans, etc. Just put your mind to becoming a physician, you can do it if you want it badly enough!First off if you come from a wealthy family and can afford college and med school you really have no need to do better then a B average in high school. But if you are like me you will have to get a 95 or above in every class and do well on the PSAT to get awarded with the national merrit scholarship. If you do well on your PSAT when you take it in your sophomore year college letters will start pouring in. In high school you should take all ap classes. AP biology, anatomy, and chemistry are very helpful when you go to college and med school. Doing well on your SAT is equally important. If you do well on both these tests and in school all you need to do is pick a college with a good med program. I attended Rice university in Houston, Texas which had a 5- year no MCAT program. Then I attended medical school also in Houston and became a Orthopedic surgeon. After my residency I got a job at a local hospital and now i make 750k a year. All the years of suffering are worth it. Definately take math subjects, biology subject, anatomy and such, become a C.N.A to start practicint taking vitals and helping people.take everything ap and honors then u'll probably make it #If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
